Alternative Prowler Turret (Planetside)

First of all: don't consider this as a final concept, more like an unfinished idea! But maybe it can act like a little push into the right direction for the actual Prowler.

I now play Planetside for a long time and love driving the Prowler. But there is one problem: Its design! I believe its mainly due to its poor turret. so i tried myself on it. While modeling I figured out that the tank as a whole has an aesthetic problem. so to make the tank look really cool would need a COMPLETE redesign. But since there are so much cosmetics to buy for the prowler now, its rather unlikely SOE will do a complete redesign. But changing the turret would be still possible with more or less little effort.

Problems i figured out and tried to fix with this concept:
-Current turret is way to small and just looks silly on that massive hull.
-Side mounted cannon is just (sorry for being rude) silly.
-lack of actual functionality (if you look for a second on how a real tank cannon work, you would understand why this cannon could barely be reloaded and it could not actually aim down and upward. And no "This is Sci Fi" is no excuse! ;D)
-No real eye-catcher or unique shapes
